GHS SWIM SENIOR HEADED FOR SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY

Granbury High School senior Mary Power, a member of the GHS swim team, announced her plans to continue her swimming career at Southwestern University during a signing ceremony on April 20, 2021, at the Pirate Pavilion. 

The Southwestern Pirates’ swimming and diving team compete in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference as part of NCAA Division III athletics.  The college is located in Georgetown, Texas. 

Power, a team captain this year and co-captain the past two years, qualified for the UIL state meet three times in 2018 (Girls 200 Freestyle Relay and Girls 200 Medley Relay), 2019 (Girls 200 Freestyle Relay and Girls 200 Medley Relay), and 2020 (Girls 200 Medley Relay and Girls 400 Freestyle Relay). 

The GHS senior earned All-State honors this season as an honorable mention for the Girls 400 Freestyle Relay.  She was also named Academic All-State by the Texas Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association.
