Fifth graders at Mambrino School were “pitch perfect” during a project presentation of incredible instrument innovations on May 8, 2015.

Through project based learning, the students combined music and science for the task to create a pitched musical instrument using everyday materials, according to music teacher Bonnie Oates.

The group had to use their knowledge of instruments and sound energy to created their device, which had to be able to play at least five different pitches. Students received extra credit if one or more members of their teams could actually play song with their instrument.
