Fifth graders at Mambrino
School were “pitch perfect” during a project presentation of incredible
instrument innovations on May 8, 2015.
Through project based
learning, the students combined music and science for the task to create a
pitched musical instrument using everyday materials, according to music teacher
Bonnie Oates.
The group had to use their
knowledge of instruments and sound energy to created their device, which had to
be able to play at least five different pitches. Students received extra credit if one or more
members of their teams could actually play song with their instrument.
