Lyndsey Sager, who recently
completed her sophomore year at Granbury High School, was the first-prize
winner in a human rights art competition sponsored by the Texas School
Counseling Association.
Sager was only one of two
state-wide winners in the high school division of the contest, which centered
on the theme “Celebrating Our Differences.”
The competition allowed for
two-dimensional pieces drawn horizontally with markers, tempera paint, acrylic
paint, pen, or ink, according to art teacher Kayla Bennett.
Sager was nominated by GHS counselor Doug Barnett. For winning the contest, she earned a $500
prize.
