Granbury High School band members scored Division I superior ratings at the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest on May 24, 2014, at the University of Texas at Austin.
Receiving the top mark for solos were sophomores Aaron Morgan (tuba) and Brennan Ross (French horn).
In addition, a woodwind trio featuring all three drum majors also earned a superior rating. Ensemble members were seniors Ashleen Atchue (oboe) and Chase Rogers (clarinet) along with junior Alissa Jillson (flute).
Along with the Texas Music Educators Association’s All-State audition process, the TSSEC is the top musical competition in the state featuring band students who earned a Division I at the regional level with memorized solos and ensembles.
