GRANBURY CHOIRS CLAIM SWEEPSTAKES HONORS

Granbury High School and Crossland Ninth Grade Center choirs excelled during the Region 7 UIL concert and sightreading contest held April 14-15, 2016, at Weatherford High School.
 
The GHS varsity mixed choir, the GHS varsity ladies, the GHS varsity men, the Crossland ladies, and the Crossland men all earned the top recognition – Division I superior ratings for both their concert and sightreading performances.
 
The junior varsity mixed choir received top marks for their sightreading performance and a Division II excellent rating on stage.
 
Choirs from Acton Middle School and Granbury Middle School also shined during their competition on March 1 in Aledo.
 
Seventh and eighth graders earning sweepstakes recognition and top ratings from all judges in both portions were the AMS varsity girls, varsity boys, non-varsity girls, and non-varsity boys as well as the GMS varsity girls.
 
GMS varsity boys received a Division I in sightreading and a Division II excellent rating on stage, while the GMS non-varsity girls received Division II ratings in both areas.
 
Directors are:  GHS and Crossland – Joy Hope and Greg Doss; AMS – Christine Zimmerman and Randall Walters; GMS – Jeremy Bowen and Dawn Crnkovic.
