Granbury High School students
shined at the University of North Texas Health Science Center’s Annual High
School Art Show on April 30, 2016, in Denton.
Daniela Cortes led the
group with a first-place award in the color graphics competition.
Students received the
following awards:
- Black and White Graphics: Daniela Cortes, second; Baylee Baxter, third;
Jackie Novelli, fourth; Gabriela Cortes, honorable mention
- Color Graphics: Daniela Cortes, first; Gabriela Cortes,
second
- Painting: Nicole Kallemeyn, third; Jackie Novelli,
fourth; Darby Hammond, honorable mention
Since 1985, this
competition and show has given students in the 11th and 12th grades an
opportunity to exhibit their best works in mixed media, color graphics,
printmaking, photography, black and white drawing, three-dimensional art,
painting, and computer design. This
year's competition drew hundreds of entries from twenty school districts.
