“I am so pleased that 60% of the Pride of Granbury graduating seniors will be receiving scholarship money to continue participating in band at the college level,” commented GHS band director Mark Eastin.  “As music educators we hope to instill a lifelong love of music and performing, and I hope this is just the start of things to come for our program.

Students accepting college band scholarships are:
  • Abilene Christian University:  Matthew Johnston, Lily Thornton
  • Stephen F. Austin State University:  Kalvin Hughes
  • Tarleton State University:  Henry Shannon
  • Texas A&M University-Commerce:  Cameron Weeks

Six of those – Hall, Hughes, Morgan, Ross, Shannon, and Weeks – plan to major in music education or performance.

“These students leave behind a great legacy,” Eastin remarked.  “It's been a great four years with this group.”
