GHS THEATER STUDENTS RECEIVE AWARDS

Granbury High School and Crossland Ninth Grade Center theater students received awards for acting and production work at a banquet on May 24, 2016, at Lakeside Baptist Church.
 
Theater arts teachers Mark Weeks and Krista Alcorn announced the following honors:
 
  • Best Lead Actor:  Aaron Brooks, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley Jr.
  • Best Lead Actress:  Kiersten Mathis, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley Jr.
  • Best Supporting Actor:  Coley Irving, The History of Tom Jones
  • Best Supporting Actress:  Kate Jennings, The History of Tom Jones
  • Best Technician:  Caleb Wood
  • Newcomer Award:  Kaitlyn Bailey
Awards presented to top students in each class were:
  • Distinguished Senior:  Cade Yarborough
  • Distinguished Junior:  Kimbria Younkin
  • Distinguished Sophomore:  Kelsey Pavelick
  • Distinguished Freshman:  Mason York
Seniors honored were Aaron Brooks, Baylee Davis, Lillian Hyde, Kiersten Mathis, Brennan Ross, Johnny Tullos, and Cade Yarborough.
 
Thespian officers for next school year will be:  president – Grace Arnold; vice president – Kate Jennings; secretary – Kaitlyn Bailey; treasurer – Coley Irving; historian – Ashley Brooke Boyd.  They succeed Baylee Davis, Kiersten Mathis, Arnold, and Jennings in the leadership roles.
