Choir students from
Granbury High School and Crossland Ninth Grade Center excelled at the UIL Texas
State Solo and Ensemble Contest on May 30, 2016, at the University of Texas at
Austin.
CHOIR STUDENTS EXCEL AT STATE SOLO AND ENSEMBLE CONTEST
June 9, 2016

Freshman Casey Wilcox (pictured at left) was named
an Outstanding Soloist after earning a Division I superior rating on her solo. The
award is bestowed by each judge to performers who attain superior musicianship.
In addition to Rupp, soloists
earning the top mark with a Division I superior rating were Kaitlyn Bailey, Garrin
Brassie, Kiersten Mathis, Aaron Morgan, Amanda Peterson, Taunton Puckett,
Brennan Ross, Grace Sokol, Statia Sokol, Mikayla Vandergriff, Andrew Walters, Shannon
Wornell, and Zach Zagrocki.
Receiving Division II
excellent ratings were soloists Ashley Brooke Boyd, April Cabrera, Baylee
Davis, Brynn Deger, Karleigh Hesser, Craig Knisley, Zoe Mehall, Jade Reneau,
and Skylar Schreiber.
Four choir ensembles also competed:
- Madrigal – Superior Rating: Garin Brassie, Jacob Clark, Abigail Garcia, Annabelle McMasters, Zoe Mehall, Sidney Perdue, Amanda Peterson, Victoria Smith, Andrew Walters, Chris Willis
- Madrigal – Excellent Rating: Baylee Davis, Mark Hartgraves, Jamie Hernandez, Savannah Irish, Bailey Occhipinti, Brennan Ross, Grace Sokol, Statia Sokol, Mikayla Vandergriff, Michael Wheeler
- Madrigal – Excellent Rating: Nash Buescher, Cadence Chiappe, Kenna Collins, Brynn Deger, Jamie Garcia, Craig Knisley, Jaci Largent, Morgan Molder, Taunton Puckett, Talor Swindle
- Madrigal – Excellent Rating: Brendin Anchondo, Christopher Lancaster, Madison Miller, Dakota Paulo, Erin Pavelick, Jade Reneau, Reagan Slade, Emily Talley, Savannah Wark, Remington Watson
