Choirs from Acton Middle
School and Granbury Middle School received sweepstakes honors at UIL concert
and sightreading contest held March 8-9, 2017, at Aledo High School.
Several choirs of seventh
and eighth graders earned sweepstakes by receiving Division I superior ratings in
both concert and sightreading performances.
Earning the top rating from
all judges in both portions were the AMS varsity girls, AMS varsity boys, and the
GMS varsity girls.
GMS varsity boys received a
Division I on stage and a Division II excellent rating in sightreading. The AMS non-varsity ensembles for both boys
and girls received Division I ratings for sightreading and Division II ratings
for concert performance.
