GHS MUSICAL “NEWSIES” SET FOR JANUARY 23-26

Granbury High School fine arts students will be presenting the musical Newsies on January 23-26, 2020, in the GHS Bagby-McMahan Performing Arts Center.
Performances are at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 23, Friday, January 24, and Saturday, January 25. There will be a 3:00 P.M. matinee on Sunday, January 26. Admission at the door will be $10 for adults and $5 for students.
According to Music Theatre International, set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!
Leading the cast are Caleb Fisher as Jack, Nicole Rickenbrode as Katherine, Adam Stone as publisher Joseph Pulitzer, Matthew Walters as Davey, Liz Heil as Les, Tyler Peterson as Crutchie, and Hannah Swaim as Medda Larkin.
Rounding out the cast are Amy Adams, Isaiah Ambler, Jack Barefoot, Emmy Beaird, Melinda Beeson, Laureb Bower, Victoria Burkey, Trinidad Carillo, Dylan Coleman, Blaize Cross, Lillie Davis, Zander Durham, Maddie Emerson, Brennan Fisher, Luke Forrest, Bella Guzman, Ethan Hart, Sykora Hatten, Holly Hodges, Lu Johns-De La Garza, Georgia Myers, Kylie Pickett, Kalyn Piper, Levi Reese, Rene Robles, Valeria Sanchez, Matthew Shute, Bleu Slater, Julie Smith, Avery Thomas, Jillian Tremble, Joshua Tremble, Jack Watson, Madison Weaver, and Tiffany Wynne.
Directing the musical are GHS theater arts teachers Mark Weeks and Melissa Hutson as well as choir directors Kendra Fisher and Kyle Wheatley.
