The Granbury High School Pirate Band announced its leadership team for the 2020-21 school year.
The Pride of Granbury will be led by senior drum majors Hannah Branum, Tyler Ellis, and Jonathan Rositas along with junior drum major Alex Call.
Also serving in band leadership positions are color guard captains Jadyn Battenfield, Anastasia Mercer, and Katelynne Wren. For the Pirate Drumline, Adam Gomez will be battery captain and Nathan Gibson will be front ensemble captain.
Section leaders are Paige Anderson (trumpet), Megan Bendarz (flute), Josh Courtney (French horn), Nate Franzmathes (saxophone/low reed), Luke Mankowski (low brass), Anna Mounce (clarinet), and Maddie Purvis (flute).
Drill captains are Wesley Barefoot, Cade Barnes, Josh Beaver, Mayra Coronilla, Max Glenney, Maddie Greer, Caitlyn Jacobs, Emily Juarez, Kadin Lopez, Corey Lyden, Katelyn Sukampo, Julian Villalobos, Lilly Welch, and Kaylee Williams.
This fall marching show ”What the World Needs....” will focus on the view of our future through the eyes of a teenager. Featured music will include some notable songs include “What the World Needs Now” by Burt Bacharach, “Paint It Black” by the Rolling Stones, “Pure Imagination” by Anthony Newley, and “Knights Of Cydonia” by Muse.
Directors for the GHS band are Mark Eastin, Tahlequah Kirk, Katelyn Johnson, Alan Olmos, and Maggie Meroney.
