GHS PIRATE BAND HOLDING COMMUNITY PERFORMANCES

Update - October 15, 2020: GHS Pirate Band’s community performance of the “Smile” fall marching show is cancelled for tonight (Fri., Oct. 16). The November 6 performance at Pirate Stadium is still on.
The Granbury High School Pirate Band is holding two community performances to feature its fall marching show on Friday, October 16 and Friday, November 6, 2020, at Pirate Stadium.
The show “Smile” includes music from past marching shows with “Fly to Paradise” by Eric Whitacre, “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin, “Once More Unto the Breach” by Stephen Melillo.
Both community performances will begin at 7:00 P.M. The November 6 performance will include middle school students from Acton Middle School and Granbury Middle School.
The band will also compete in a virtual Bands of America Showcase on Saturday, October 24 at 1:45 P.M. at Pirate Stadium.
All performances are free and open to the public.
The Pride of Granbury is led by senior drum majors Hannah Branum and Jonathan Rositas along with junior drum major Alex Call.
Also serving in band leadership positions are color guard captains Jadyn Battenfield, Anastasia Mercer, and Katelynne Wren. For the Pirate Drumline, Adam Gomez is battery captain and Nathan Gibson is front ensemble captain.
Section leaders are Paige Anderson (trumpet), Megan Bendarz (flute), Josh Courtney (French horn), Nate Franzmathes (saxophone/low reed), Luke Mankowski (low brass), Anna Mounce (clarinet), and Maddie Purvis (flute).
Drill captains are Wesley Barefoot, Cade Barnes, Josh Beaver, Mayra Coronilla, Max Glenney, Maddie Greer, Caitlyn Jacobs, Emily Juarez, Kadin Lopez, Corey Lyden, Katelyn Sukampo, Julian Villalobos, Lilly Welch, and Kaylee Williams.
Directors for the GHS band are Mark Eastin, Tahlequah Kirk, Katelyn Johnson, Alan Olmos, and Maggie Meroney.
