Five Granbury High School students and one alternate are advancing in the multi-level process to qualify for All-State Choirs. The TMEA Region 30 auditions were held virtually on October 17, 2020.
Granbury students advancing to the next round are:
- Soprano 2: Julie Smith, first alternate
- Alto 1: Hannah Swaim, third chair
- Tenor 2: Adam Stone, sixth chair
- Bass 1: Joshua Courtney, third chair; Jack Barefoot, eighth chair; Caleb Fisher, eleventh chair
All six were named to the All-Region Choir.
Swaim, a senior, was selected for the TMEA All-State Women’s Choir last year.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, the All-State process has been condensed to three rounds all held virtually. For the first-round auditions, students were competing for only twelve advancing spots. Only five will progress from the second round.
The students are under the direction of Kendra Fisher and Kyle Wheatley.
