GHS PIRATE BAND SEASON CULMINATES WITH COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE

The Granbury High School Pirate Band wrapped up its 2020 marching season with a community performance on November 6, 2020, at Pirate Stadium. 

The event commenced with a combined performance of the GHS band along with seventh and eighth graders from Acton Middle School and Granbury Middle School. 

Following was the fall marching show “Smile” includes music from past marching shows with “Fly to Paradise” by Eric Whitacre, “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin, “Once More Unto the Breach” by Stephen Melillo.  

The Pride of Granbury is led by senior drum majors Hannah Branum and Jonathan Rositas along with junior drum major Alex Call.  

Also serving in band leadership positions are color guard captains Jadyn Battenfield, Anastasia Mercer, and Katelynne Wren.  For the Pirate Drumline, Adam Gomez is battery captain and Nathan Gibson is front ensemble captain.  

Section leaders are Paige Anderson (trumpet), Megan Bendarz (flute), Josh Courtney (French horn), Nate Franzmathes (saxophone/low reed), Luke Mankowski (low brass), Anna Mounce (clarinet), and Maddie Purvis (flute).  

Drill captains are Wesley Barefoot, Cade Barnes, Josh Beaver, Mayra Coronilla, Max Glenney, Maddie Greer, Caitlyn Jacobs, Emily Juarez, Kadin Lopez, Corey Lyden, Katelyn Sukampo, Julian Villalobos, Lilly Welch, and Kaylee Williams.  

Directors for the GHS band are Mark Eastin, Tahlequah Kirk, Katelyn Johnson, Alan Olmos, and Maggie Meroney.  Middle school directors are Michele Kahne and Ben Holmes at GMS and April Page and Stephanie Bosch at AMS.
