Granbury High School band ensembles won sweepstakes honors with superior ratings at the UIL concert and sightreading competition on April 12-13, 2022, at Burleson High School.

The three high school bands earned Division I ratings for both stage and sightreading performances.  Combined with the fall marching award, the ensembles achieved sweepstakes for the school year.

Programs for the GHS groups were:

• Wind Ensemble: Hands Across the Sea (Sousa), Enigma Variations, Opus 36 (Elgar/Slocum), Three Latin Dances (Tyzik)
• Symphonic Band: Amparito Roca (Texidor/arr. Fagan), Swirling Prisms (Balmages), Shadow Rituals (Markowski)
• Concert Band: The Bandmasters (Putnam), Portsmouth Reflections (Oare), Moscow, 1941 (Balmages)

GHS band directors are Mark Eastin, Katelyn Johnson, Alan Olmos, and Tahlequah Kirk.
