PRIDE OF GRANBURY TO WELCOME NEW STAFF

June 2, 2022

The Granbury High School band program will be under new leadership next school year following the departure of directors at the end of the 2021-22 school year.

Bidding farewell to the Pride of Granbury are director Mark Eastin as well as assistants Tahlequah Kirk and Alan Olmos.  Assistant director Katelyn Johnson is moving from GHS to Acton Middle School to replace outgoing assistant director Stephanie Bosch.  Remaining on the high school staff will be colorguard instructor Maggie Meroney.

“I cherish the 12 years I have spent here and will take with me memories to last a lifetime,” Eastin said. “Thank you to the students and parents whom I have had the pleasure to make music with over the years. You are the Pride of Granbury.

“The last 13 years have the been the best of my 19 years in education,” commented Kirk, who led the percussion ensemble to the PASIC international competition in 2019. “The memories made along with the successes the program experienced were all due to the incredibly talented, hard-working students I was blessed enough to stand in front of daily, the parental and booster support, and the district administration.”

Eastin is retiring, while Kirk will be working in the private sector.  Olmos accepted a position at the new McAnally Middle School in Aledo.

The search is underway for the next Pirate of Granbury directorial staff.
