FFA TEAMS PLACE AT STATE JUDGING CONTESTS

Granbury FFA agronomy and
entomology teams placed at state Career Development Event contests on April 23,
2016, at Texas Tech University.
Astyn Alexander, Ricky Amador,
Alyx Bradley, and Hunter Prewitt placed third in the agronomy competition while the
entomology team – Macey Burch, Ben Jurardo, Alex Myers, and Ben Valles – took home
a fifth-place plaque.


State events feature top
teams representing each of the ten Future Farmers of America state areas.
Also competing in Lubbock was
the horse team (LaKayla Bell, Lana Bell, Trisha Gryder, Mikayla Hamilton, Abby
Grace Thomas) and a second entomolgy squad (Mattie Allen, Nathan Mabery,
Maclane May, and Skylar Skipper).
The range team of Savannah
Oliver, Trevor Stringer, Tanyon Wickline, and Ashleigh Wilson previously competed
on April 21 at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.
Others teams will compete on
April 30 at Texas A&M University in College Station:
- Meats: Emily Brite, Maclane May, Taylor Phillips, Sarah Spradlin
- Veterinary Science: team (Samantha Adams, Baylee Baxter, Elizabeth Bell, McKenna Drummer, Caitlin Hutson), sixth; individual – Samantha Adams, seventh
Agricultural science teachers
are Trey Keys, Chelsea Campbell, Tyler McCoy, and Courtney Overstreet.
