GRANBURY FFA WINS DISTRICT SWEEPSTAKES TITLE

Granbury FFA won sweepstakes at the Lake Whitney FFA District Convention on April 27, 2016, at Alvarado High School.
 
Earning the district sweepstakes title followed the GHS group wrapping up a successful year of competition.  The evening accolades also included the election of Caitlin Hutson as district treasurer for the coming school year.
 
Results for students competing in speaking and proficiency contests were:
 
  • Ag Policy Senior Prepared Public Speaking:  Sarah Spradlin, first (advancing to area)
  • Agribusiness Senior Prepared Public Speaking:  Ben Lillagore, third
  • Animal Science Senior Prepared Public Speaking:  Emily Brite, second (advancing to area)
  • Natural Resources Senior Prepared Public Speaking:  Mattie Allen, fourth
  • Soil Stewardship Speaking:  Brandon Montgomery, second (advancing to area)
  • FFA Talent Contest:  Ricky Amador – 5th
  • Proficiency in Small Animal Production and Care:  Baylee Baxter, first (advancing to area)
  • Proficiency in Wildlife Mangement:  Courtney Bedwell, first (advancing to area)
  • Proficiency in Veterinary Science:  Lynne Bell, second
  • Proficiency in Agriscience:  Sean Keys, first (advancing to area)
  • Star Lonestar Proficiency:  Sean Keys, first (advancing to area)
