SCHOOL TRUSTEES CELEBRATE NATIONAL FFA TEAM
June
24, 2016

Granbury FFA entomology team
members, who won second place in the nation for the Career Development Event
judging contest, were recognized by Granbury ISD school board trustees on June
20, 2016.
The squad composed Macey
Burch, Brandon Jurado, Alex Myers, and Ben Valles won silver at the Future
Farmers of America competition on May 12 at Tarleton State University in
Stephenville.
They advanced to the national
competition after placing fifth at state on April 23 at Texas Tech University. The group had previously won first place at
the Area VIII level.
In
the competition, students apply the
fundamentals of entomology and develop skills in identifying common insects and
their significance to people and agriculture.
