FFA STUDENTS ADVANCING TO STATE JUDGING CONTESTS

Four Granbury High School teams are advancing to Future Farmers of America state judging contests featuring top teams representing each of the ten FFA state areas.

The teams advancing from Area VIII competitions are:
 
  • Entomology: team (Macey Burch, Brandon Jurardo, Alex Myers, Ben Valles), first; individual – Alex Myers, second; Ben Valles, third; Macey Burch, fifth; Brandon Jurardo, sixth
  • Horse Judging: team (Lakayla Bell, Lana Bell, Trisha Gryder, Grace Thomas), third; individual – Grace Thomas, tenth
  • Range: team (Julia Keys, Kyla Shelnutt, Tanyon Wickline, Ashleigh Wilson), first; individual – Tanyon Wickline, first; Ashleigh Wilson, second; Julia Keys, fifth; Kyla Shellnutt, sixth
  • Veterinary Science: team (Whitney Carrol, McKenna Drummer, Caitlin Hutson, Carley Matsinger), fourth
The agronomy team of Ricky Amador, Alyx Bradley, and Hunter Prewitt will also compete at state.
 
State competitions will be: agronomy, entomology, and horse teams – April 22 at Texas Tech University; range team – April 27 at Tarleton State University; veterinary science team – April 29 at Texas A&M University.
