The Granbury ISD Board of Trustees approved a guaranteed maximum price for bond projects to build secure entries at all elementary and middle schools during a special meeting on June 4, 2014.
Keith Ruffner, director of estimating and contracts for the Buford-Thompson Company, presented the overall figure of $3.605 million as the guaranteed maximum price for controlled entry vestibules at all GISD elementary and middle schools.

Construction is expected to begin immediately with completion planned for some time in August before the beginning of the school year. Because of the larger scope of work at Oak Woods School, completion on that project could take longer.
Gyms for Acton Elementary School and Emma Roberson Elementary School have been postponed and are being rolled into the larger high school project to provide better financing through “economies of scale.”
BTC is the construction manager at-risk for all GISD bond projects and is working alongside the Huckabee architectural firm. Plans are still under development for the transformation of and additions to Granbury High School, with construction planned to begin in late fall and last through August 2016.
Trustees will next meet for a regular monthly meeting and a workshop on Monday, June 16. Board meetings are held in the GISD Board Room located next to the Administration Building at 600 W. Pearl Street.
