Eight choir students from Granbury High School and Crossland Ninth Grade Center recently advanced toward the final round of auditions to qualify for one of three all-state choirs.

Seniors Kiersten Mathis (alto 2) and Zach Zagrocki (bass 2) both earned first-chair honors in their respective voices. Others advancing are Baylee Davis (alto 2), Brynn Deger (alto 1), Jake Piland, Statia Sokol (soprano 2), Andrew Walters (bass 2), and Casey Wilcox (alto 1). Piland, Walters, and Wilcox are all freshmen.

The students qualified during pre-area auditions held November 21, 2015, at Burleson High School. The group next travels to Midland for the final auditions, which will be held January 9, 2016, at Robert E. Lee High School.
