GRANBURY BANDS AND CHOIRS HOLDING PRE-UIL CONCERTS

Granbury
school bands and choirs are busy preparing for UIL concert and sightreading
contests scheduled for March and April 2016. Preview performances for parents and the public are set prior to the
competitions.
The groups from Granbury High School,
Crossland Ninth Grade Center, Acton Middle School, and Granbury Middle School are
holding concerts to give parents an opportunity to hear the programs as well as
to give students experience performing before a live audience.
The concert
schedule is:
- All GISD Bands: Thursday, March 31 at 6:00 P.M. (GHS Bagby-McMahan Performing Arts Center)
- GHS/Crossland Choirs: Tuesday, April 5 at 7:30 P.M. (GHS Bagby-McMahan Performing Arts Center)
- AMS 7th and 8th Grade Choirs: Tuesday, February 23 at 6:00-8:00 P.M. (AMS)
- GMS 7th and 8th Grade Choirs: Tuesday, February 23 at 4:30-6:30 P.M. (GMS)
Sixth grade
choirs will also hold a festival on Thursday, February 25 from 4:00-8:00 P.M.
at GMS. As beginners, these students do
not participate in UIL competition.
The
competitions will follow: middle school
choirs – March 1-3 at Aledo High School; high school bands – April 19-21 at
Burleson High School; high school choirs – April 12-15 at Fort Worth Southwest
High School and Weatherford High School; and middle school bands – April 12-14
at Burleson Centennial High School.
Choir students are under the direction
of: GHS and Crossland – Joy Hope and
Greg Doss; AMS – Christine Bridges and Randall Walters; GMS – Jeremy Bowen and
Dawn Crnkovic. Band directors are: GHS – Mark Eastin and Tahlequah Kirk; AMS –
John Morgan and Stephanie Bosch; GMS – Michele Kahne and James Beeson.
