PIRATE BASEBALL UNDEFEATED IN TWO TOURNAMENTS

The
Granbury Pirates are off to an incredible start with undefeated showings in two
tournaments to begin the 2016 season.
The
Pirates started off the Judson/North East ISD tourney held March 4-6 with a 3-2
victory over the Judson Rockets, the host team, followed by Day 2 wins over
South San Antonio 5-3 and San Antonio Highlands 10-4. The boys wrapped up the
invitational by beating San Antonio Roosevelt 11-4 and Antonian Prep 4-1.
At
the Granbury Classic Chevrolet Tournament on February 25-27, the Pirates shut
out Fort Worth Western Hills 10-0 in five innings on the opening day. They followed up with strong wins over Brewer
12-5 and Stephenville 17-2. On the final
day, a split squad beat Stephenville 4-2 before the whole team regrouped to
trounce Sweetwater 10-0 and defeat Fort Worth Country Day 4-1.
The
varsity team travels to the Northwest ISD tournament on March 10-12 before
opening District 8-5A play versus Burleson on Tuesday, March 15 at Tidwell
Field.

Gray, Tristan Fallin, Corbin Harris, Matthew Hickey, Hunter Jones, Lachlyn
McPhie, Chandler Roop, Daniel Tramel, Chance Turney, Andrew Walters, Landon
Weatherly, and Kyler Young.

coach Brad Eppler is assisted by Trent Phillips, Greg McCarthy, Danny Guidry,
and athletic trainer Andy Rankin.
