Four Pirates on the Granbury High School baseball team earned spots on the District 8-5A all-district team following the 2016 season.

 

Earning first-team honors were catcher Landon Gray, pitchers Matthew Hickey and Landon Weatherly, and outfielder Chance Turney.

 

Gray was the district’s top offensive player last year and was on the first team the previous two years, while Hickey was on last season’s second team and received an honorable mention nod in 2014.

 

Gray and Weatherly are both seniors, while Hickey and Turney are juniors.

 

In addition to Granbury, District 8-5A is composed of Aledo, Burleson, Burleson Centennial, Cleburne, Crowley, Everman, and Joshua.
