On Friday, September 9, Granbury ISD students recognized the work of community first responders just prior to September 11, 2021, marking the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

At the STEAM Academy at Mambrino, students and staff greeted law enforcement, fire, and EMT personnel who drove their vehicles in a parade at the front of the school. The first responders were provided bottled water as well as breakfast burritos donated by Brock’s Food and Drink. Leftover burritos were donated to the hardworking staff at Lake Granbury Medical Center.

At Oak Woods School, students and staff invited law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency response personnel to come by the school for a well-deserved break and receive a goody bag as a token of their appreciation for the first responders’ public service and sacrifice to keep our citizens safe.
