The Granbury ISD School Board met for its regular monthly meeting on October 17, 2022.

Board Meeting Briefs

• Cayden McDonald and Alli MacKinnon from the STEAM Academy at Mambrino led the pledges.
• In the achievement spotlight, GHS principal Jeremy Ross honored seniors Andrew Dias and Cooper Sanderson as National Merit Commended Students. 
• Also in the achievement spotlight, GHS career & technical education teacher Dawn Bradley honored her student as the design winner of the "Stop the Prop" logo art design, Christopher Beaver.  A sticker with his winning logo will be displayed on every district facility.
• Dr. Jeremy Glenn recognized and thanked the district's ten principals for National Principals Month.
• Dr. Jeremy Glenn highlighted the success of the 9th Annual 50 Fellas Foodfest where Granbury ISD Education Foundation raised over $151,000 in funds for innovative teaching grants.
• Trustees honored Mark Jackson for over twelve years of service to the district as school board member.  Jackson has served in every officer role, played an integral role in facilitating district strategic planning plans and been heavily involved as a husband, father, and volunteer in Granbury ISD schools.
• Chief of security Wade Clark reported the results of three successful intruder detection audits by the Texas School Safety Center.  So far this school year, Granbury ISD has passed three audits at Oak Woods School, Emma Roberson Early Learning Academy and Acton Middle School.  
• The board approved the 2022-23 District Improvement Plan and the Nettie Baccus Elementary's Targeted Improvement Plan.  The plans are available at https://www.granburyisd.org/dip

• Trustees next convene on Monday, November 14 with an Executive Session at 5 PM followed by a Regular Session at 6 PM.
