The Granbury ISD School Board met for its regular monthly meeting on Monday, November 14, 2022.
Board Meeting Briefs
Granbury Middle School students Wyatt Blackmon and Ruby Portman led the pledges. Wyatt Duval was also scheduled to represent GMS, but he was unable to attend.
Granbury High School seniors Skyler Mitchell and Dianna Koch were recognized as the top two winners of the Veterans Day Essay Contest.
DECA Chapter Officers presented their goals and accomplishments to the board as part of Deca Month. The officers are Ayden Davila, Amy Hernandez, Bryson Sparks, Gavin Logsdon, Diorlan Granados, Ryan Baker, Alan Davila, and Lydia Strickland.
Granbury High School freshman Bryan Hailey was recognized for placing 20th at the UIL state meet in November.
Granbury High School junior Jaxon Robinson was recognized for his recent achievement of being named Nfinity First Team All-American Athlete.
Superintendent Dr. Jeremy K. Glenn and the Board of Trustees recognized outgoing trustee Paula McDonald and presented her with a plaque in honor of her service to the district.
In a Public Hearing for the FIRST Report, chief financial officer Emmett Whitefield presented the state's school financial accountability rating report, known as the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST). Granbury ISD received a rating of Superior Achievement. The FIRST report and presentation are available at https://www.granburyisd.org/Page/22525.

Director of curriculum and instruction Stacie Brown and federal programs coordinator Kristina Sosebee presented the Emergent Bilingual (EB) Program Evaluation. A copy of the presentation is available at https://www.granburyisd.org/Page/23255.
Director of transportation Brian Caruthers gave an annual report on district transportation. Caruthers highlighted the department's current successes and challenges in an effort to plan for the future.

Next Meeting
Trustees next convene on Monday, December 12 with an Executive Session at 5 PM followed by a Regular Session at 6 PM.
Meetings are held in the GISD Board Room in the Administration Building at 217 N. Jones Street.
