Erinn Jayjohn Erinn Jayjohn is the new head coach of the Lady Pirate softball team at Granbury High School following her official appointment by the Granbury ISD school board on June 22, 2015.
She is currently a varsity assistant coach and JV head coach at Northwest High School in Justin. Prior to returning to her high school alma mater as a coach, Jayjohn was an assistant coach at Southern Arkansas University while working on her graduate studies.
Jayjohn received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi, where she was a three-year letterman and was senior team captain while competing as a pitcher, first baseman, and utility player. In high school at Northwest, she was a four-year letterman and received all-district honors all four years – once as district most valuable player and once as pitcher of the year. She was also a team captain for the Lady Texans.
"We are very excited what Erinn brings to our program not only on the field, which is obvious from her resume that shows she played at the highest level in the best softball conference, the SEC, in the nation but also coached at the college level and helped turn a program completely around, but also what she brings to GHS in the classroom," commented Granbury ISD athletic director Dwight Butler.  "Her knowledge of the game and attention to detail and strategies and her leadership qualities are much more advanced than most coaches I talked to about the position. I appreciate Dr. Largent and the Board of Trustees allowing us the opportunity to get someone of her quality. We are excited watching Coach Jayjohn and her assistants begin the process of building a great softball program at GHS."
The new head coach succeeds Mallory Smith, who is departing after two years at the helm to teach and coach softball and volleyball at Eaton High School in Fort Worth. In addition, assistant coach Shanna Shelton will be returning to the classroom full time next school year.  She will remain at GHS in the math department.
Kristen Treppa will be joining the softball coaching squad while also keeping her JV coaching duties with the Lady Pirate basketball team. In addition, Ashley Seibel will begin her second year as a softball assistant.
Other coaching assignments recently approved by the board: Melissa Dahle, assistant volleyball and track coach; Jennifer Henderson, GMS girls coach; Jason Shahan, assistant football coach; Desiree Shahan, GMS girls coach; Jennifer Steele, assistant swim coach.
Other coaching changes include the departure of: assistant volleyball and track coach A.J. Watlington; assistant football coach Brock Walker; and GMS girls coaches Chris Bloyd and Sara Tipton.
