BRAWNER STAFF THANKS HOME DEPOT FOR GARDEN CLASSROOM

June 30, 2015

Brawner

Teachers and staff at Brawner Intermediate School took time out of a summer professional development day to thank Home Depot employees for helping construct an outdoor garden classroom on June 30, 2015.

The Home Depot staff began by establishing the beds and will return in the fall for planting.

The garden was the brainchild of former physical education teacher Patty Phillips, who helped establish the walking track and other outdoor features to enhance instruction and student enrichment at the school.

Through the garden, students will have an opportunity to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills while working on project based learning initiatives, science experiments, and other assignments.
