SCENES FROM AROUND GRANBURY ISD

 

The Granbury Marine Corps JROTC (left) celebrated the Marine Corps birthday during a cake ceremony on Monday; the Lady Pirate volleyball team (center left) celebrated their regional quarterfinal win over Grapevine; GISD fourth and fifth graders enjoyed a trip to the Granbury Opera House for performances by Children's Opera Theatre (center right); AES students and family helped "solve the crime" during Mystery Dessert Theater on Thursday.

 


ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

The GISD website will undergo routine maintenance and may be unavailable from 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 15 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 16.

 

VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFFS TONIGHT: The Lady Pirates will face Dumas in regional volleyball semifinal at 7pm tonight (Fri., Nov. 14) at McMurry University's Kimbrell Arena in Abilene. The winner will face either Aledo or Canyon Randall in the regional final at noon on Sat., Nov. 15. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students; two-day tourney passes are $15 for adults and $8 for students.

 

AMS MUSCIAL: Acton Middle School theater students are presenting "Annie Jr." this weekend with performances on Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15 at 7:00 P.M. in the AMS cafeteria. There will also be a matinee at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, November 16. Admission is $7 at the door.

 

FOOTBALL PLAYOFF GAME AT PIRATE STADIUM:  Granbury is hosting the Boyd-Brady football playoff game tonight (Friday, November 14) at 7:30 P.M. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

 

BOND CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS: Follow GISD bond projects at www.granburyisd.org/bond for news, important documents (timeline and financial recap), and other information related to these projects which include transforming GHS, enhancing career and technical education and fine arts programs, building a robust technology infrastructure for model classrooms, improving campus safety and security, and many other improvements.
