STARS ACCELERATED HIGH SCHOOL HOLDS SPRING GRADUATION
Accelerated High School held spring graduation exercises on the evening of June
3, 2016, at Acton Middle School. Twenty-six
students received high school diplomas during the ceremony.
Principal Ginna Marks presented the diplomas to the
graduates. Granbury ISD superintendent
Dr. James Largent congratulated each student, whose tassel was transferred by school
board vice president Nancy Alan.
Following the awarding of diplomas, the students presented roses to
family members, friends, and others that helped them finish their high school

Lopez, Erika Nicole Mercado-Callahan, Carter Roy Moughon, Mary Lauren Mullican,
Sydney Ginean Nedbalek, Kalyn Kourtney O’Connor, Guy Lee Olthoff, Connor Lyn
Pitts, Caroline Elizabeth Pollard, Zachary Alexander Ruiz, Ethan Bryce Snow, Cheyanne
Raquel Tuggle, Emannuel Zavier Vazquez, and Morgan Rylie West.
A reception following the ceremony was hosted by
the Agape Sunday School class from Acton Baptist Church.
An alternative academic high school that is part of GISD,
STARS provides an optional
setting with flexibility and personalized self-paced courses for high school
students whose needs are not met in the traditional school. The acronym stands for Self-Motivated Teens
Achieving Responsibility and Success. Over
one thousand students have graduated from STARS since its founding in 1994.
