Lady Pirates def. Crowley 10-4 in softball season finale on the road Tuesday night.
JV won 12-10.

Crowley (TX) falls 10-4 at the hands of the Pirates
The Pirates beat Crowley on Tuesday 10-4 in eight innings.
The Pirates scored four runs in the fifth on the Pirates scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Lily Thornton, an error, and a two-run single by Hannah Pallett.
It was a good day at the plate for the Pirates' Thornton. Thornton went 3-4, drove in one and scored three runs.
Kelby Been picked up the win for the Pirates. Been pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks while striking out five.
#5 ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed seven runs in five innings, walked none and struck out four.
The Pirates jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Livia Zamora singled to ignite the Pirates' offense. A groundout by MaryKate McClaran then moved Zamora from first to second. The scoreboard lit up again for the Pirates when McWilliams scored on a sacrifice fly by Everly Carey.
The Pirates went up for good in the fourth, scoring three runs on an error and a two-run single by Lani Hickey.

Offenses dominate as the Granbury Pirates JV outscore Crowley (TX) 12-10
Scoreboard operators were busy on Tuesday as the Granbury Pirates JV and Crowley combined for 22 runs. Granbury Pirates JV eventually won the offensive battle 12-10 in four innings.
The two teams combined for eight hits in the game.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with seven lead changes.
The Granbury Pirates JV pulled out the win thanks to a strong fourth inning. A two-run error scored Taryn Matthews and gave the Granbury Pirates JV the lead for good.
The Granbury Pirates JV would not relinquish the lead as Crowley was unable to weather a five-run fourth inning deficit.
Crowley scored three runs in the fourth on a two-run error and an RBI single by #13. Unfortunately, Crowley wasn't able to take the lead back.
The Granbury Pirates JV were sparked by Hailie Nicholson and Abby Gage, who teamed up for two hits and two RBIs.
The top of the first saw the Granbury Pirates JV take an early lead, 2-0. Melody Sanchez kicked things off for the Granbury Pirates JV with a single. The Granbury Pirates JV added more runs when Gage scored on an RBI single by Sanchez.
It didn't take long for Crowley to respond as it scored three runs of its own in the first. Crowley scored on a walk by #10, a groundout by #14, and a wild pitch.
