GRADUATION HELD FOR GHS CLASS OF 2019

Granbury High School held commencement exercises for the Class of 2019 on May 28, 2019, at the Fort Worth Convention Center. 

Principal Jeremy Ross presented the graduates to the Board of Trustees. Diplomas were presented by school board members, and each senior was congratulated by Ross and superintendent Dr. Jeremy Glenn. 

As the top two students in the graduating class, valedictorian Yari Press and salutatorian Kinsey Brawner each delivered an address. Senior class president Sierra Mark and student body president Shayley Teeter also spoke on behalf of the seniors.

The remaining students in the top ten of the class were recognized by Ross:  Lyndee Chiles, Landree Chiles, Zoe Mehall, Abigail Gage, Amanda Peterson, Mikayla Hamilton, Courtney Gilley, and Kelby Been. 

Among seniors receiving their diplomas was Chris Willis, who was elected to the Granbury ISD school board last November.

Other class officers and student council officers participated in the program and were part of the stage party. The others were:  Miranda Hall, senior class officer; Taylor Hammonds, student body vice president; Jackson Martin, senior class officer; Judith Monzon, senior class officer; Abbey Thigpen, student body treasurer.

Andrew Walters sang the National Anthem, and senior choir members performed “The Lord Bless and Keep You” by Peter Lutkin.  The GHS Pirate Band provided music for the processional and recessional as well as the School Song and Fight Song. The school’s Marine Corps JROTC color guard presented the United States and Texas flags.
