Members of the Granbury High School Pirate and Lady Pirate track teams received the achievement spotlight at the school board meeting on June 13, 2022.

The student athletes became district record holders after the 800-meter relay teams competed at the area track meet in April 2022. The boys broke the 10-year standing record.  The girls broke the 22-year standing record.

"This group is incredibly special to me. They never batted an eye when I suggested switching up their order or stretching out their leg of the relay to make it faster. They all truly love each other and helped coach each other," commented Coach Andi Holly.
