Granbury High School MCJROTC held Summer Air Rifle Camp for incoming 7th - 9th grade students.

The mission of GHS Summer Air Rifle Camp is to promote air rifle safety and marksmanship training with an emphasis on youth. Students learned about multiple shooting sports opportunities and practiced the basics of shooting positions. Safety was the main objective during the training.

JROTC instructors Lt. Col. Scott Casey and First Sergeant Johnny Rositas led the camp. GHS rifle team members and Mr. John Becker assisted with rifle camp instruction.

“The students have been learning a lot and having fun,” said rifle team member Ashton Arlington. Arlington serves as Executive Officer “XO”. Caroline Martin serves as Recruiting and Public Affairs Officer “S-2” and took numerous pictures of the attendees while promoting the camp on social media. Lt. Col. Casey commended the rifle team members for their character and leadership abilities.
