Achievement Spotlight

Trustees recognized Granbury High School Boys and Girls 800-meter relay teams.

Donations

Trustees accepted monetary donations.

• $250 from Michelle Polaceko and $1,000 from Erin Cave to STEAM Academy
• $500 from George Herr and $3,750 MOA (Military Officers of America) to GHS MCJROTC
• $1,520 from Granbury Optimist Club to GHS and GMS Junior Optimists
• $390 in travel points from Nika Carter to GHS Stowaways 

Action on Agenda Items

Trustees discussed and took action on agenda items.

• Approved Memorandum of Understanding between GISD and Tarleton State University

• Did not approve the implementation plan regarding House Bill 547 and homeschool students participating in district UIL activities

Reports 

Trustees heard reports from superintendent of schools and chief financial officer.

• Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Glenn outlined a three-point plan to address district library services, including the adoption of local policy, appointment of a library coordinator and availability of software for parents to view student library loans.

• Chief Financial Officer Emmett Whitefield reviewed financial statements, cash flow reports and presented a balanced budget despite recent rise in fuel expenses and food expenses.

Personnel

Trustees discussed and took action on items discussed in closed session.

• Accepted resignations and approved staff recommendations
  • Dr. Glenn highlighted the appointments of new district administrators: Leah Dawson to coordinate student services and oversee district librarians and nurses, and Lissa Oliver to replace Jeff Meador as director of communications.

• Approved superintendent's evaluation and extended contract by one year
