Joseph Johnson, a culinary arts student at Granbury High School, won third place at the FCCLA State Competition Cupcake Battle on April 8, 2017, in Dallas.

Johnson’s double chocolate cupcake with salted caramel buttercream was a hit with judges and competitors.  The competition featured thirty students in the cupcake showdown.

The GHS junior placed first at the regional contest in February. So far, he has earned $6,000 in scholarships to culinary school with this recipe, which he has been working on since October.
