Joseph Johnson, a culinary arts student at Granbury High School, won third
place at the FCCLA State Competition Cupcake Battle on April 8, 2017, in Dallas.
Johnson’s double chocolate cupcake with
salted caramel buttercream was a hit with judges and competitors. The competition featured thirty students in
the cupcake showdown.
The GHS junior placed first at the regional contest in February.
So far, he has earned $6,000 in scholarships to culinary school with this
recipe, which he has been working on since October.

helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal,
family, work, and societal issues through family and consumer sciences
education.
