TECH AND ROBOTICS CAMPS PLANNED FOR SUMMER

The Granbury ISD career and technical education department will host technology and robotics camps during Summer 2017.
 
Gateway to Technology Camp The GTT camp will be June 12-15 and is for students who will be in middle school during the 2017-18 school year. The tech camp is open to all students who will be in grades 6-8 at Acton Middle School or Granbury Middle School next school year.
 
The camp will encourage students to work collaboratively within groups and use critical thinking skills to create various projects.  Included are a wide variety of hands-on activities with rockets, race cars, airplanes, physics, and engineering.
 
New this year will be Robotics Camps with two sessions – one on July 10-13 for students entering grades 4-6 and a second following on July 17-20 for students entering grades 7-9.
 
Camp participants will give students a chance to build robots, learn coding, and even take part in a few races.

All of the camps will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. at Granbury High School’s CTE Center.  The registration fee for each camp is $90, and a limited number of scholarships are available.  Lunch through the Healthy Kids summer lunch program will be available, but students may bring their lunch as well.  District transportation will not be available.
