The culinary program at Granbury High School received $5,000 in equipment through a grant program sponsored by the Fort Worth Food + Wine Foundation on November 4, 2019.
Equipment included mixers, slicers, stock pots, sauté pans, and other kitchen items. Also included were Chromebooks and a television to enhance visual instruction to students.
This marks the third year that the GHS program has received a grant from the foundation, according to GHS teacher Brianne Langdon.
The foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises funds for several needs within the culinary community, such as equipment, grants for local high schools with culinary programs, culinary scholarships beyond high school, a culinary conference and benevolent grants for local culinary professionals. To date, the foundation has awarded more than $150,000 in grants and scholarships, supporting deserving students from Fort Worth.
