Angela Leisure

Angela Leisure and Crystal Kemper were honored as the Granbury ISD Secondary and Elementary Teachers of the Year at the GISD Summer Launch for all employees on May 21, 2021, at the Granbury High School auditorium. 

Leisure teaches eighth grade English/language arts at Granbury Middle School, while Kemper is a fifth grade teacher at Acton Elementary School. 

Presenting awards to the two educators was Brian Bondy, president and CEO of the Granbury Chamber of Commerce.

  • Acton Middle School: Misty Greer, 6th grade math/science teacher
  • Baccus Elementary School: Samantha Schleder, 5th grade teacher
  • Brawner Elementary School: Julie Sellers, 5th grade teacher
  • Granbury High School: Tammy Burns, librarian
  • Oak Woods School: Keryn Herbold, 4th grade teacher
  • Roberson Early Learning Academy: Kellie Pollock, librarian
  • STARS Accelerated High School/Behavior Transition Center:  Heather Dollins, English teacher
  • STEAM Academy at Mambrino: Oakley Tyler, kindergarten teacher

Departmental employees of the year were: 

  • Child Nutrition Employee of the Year:  Maria Hernandez, child nutrition manager at Nettie Baccus Elementary School
  • Maintenance Employee of the Year:  Daniel Bryant, plumber
  • Transportation Employee of the Year:  Chrystal Griffith, school bus driver

Top campus paraprofessionals recognized during the all-staff assembly were:  

  • Acton Elementary School: Taylor Marcel, nurse
  • Acton Middle School: Mondrae Ingram, ISS aide
  • Baccus Elementary School: Luanne Long, special education aide
  • Brawner Elementary School: Josilyn Trestain, receptionist/attendance clerk
  • Granbury High School: Jennie Younkin, activity fund clerk/substitute coordinator
  • Granbury Middle School: Lauren Bruner, nurse
  • Oak Woods School: Karen Golba, library aide
  • Roberson Early Learning Academy: Amanda Hamilton, pre-kindergarten aide
  • STARS Accelerated High School/Behavior Transition Center: Lynda Correll, special education aide
  • STEAM Academy at Mambrino: Randi McPhate, library aide
