STARS Accelerated High School held spring graduation exercises on May 20, 2021, at Acton Baptist Church. Thirty-one students received high school diplomas during the ceremony.
Principal Margaret Rodriquez presented the diplomas to the graduates. Granbury ISD superintendent Dr. Jeremy Glenn congratulated each student, whose tassel was transferred by school board president Mark Jackson. Following the awarding of diplomas, the students presented flowers to family members, friends, and others that helped them finish their high school education.
The graduates receiving their high school diplomas were: Mathew Christian Anchondo, William Allen Clements, Alyssa Marie Crabb, Brendan Riley Crossland, Michael Ryan Crow, Aleena Michelle Cudd, Anjelica Maria Diaz, Angel Raelynn Green, Braden Scott Beecher Greenwood, Ashley Nicole Hall, Aireanna Danyale Hamm, Luis Antonio Hernandez, Lauren Renee Hughes, Emma’lee Jestine Kasavage, Gabriel Alexander Knox, Meyah Nykote Lacy, Baileigh Nicole Laney, Keith Andrew Lannin, Gannon Augustus Mason, Evilynn Carol McMinn, Maegan Reann Neagle, Josue Eduardo Perez Navarrete, Olivia Leona Raymond, McKenzie Raeann Reason, Seth Josiah Saenz, Alexandra Kathe Scott, Gregory Ryan Scott, Rylee Briann Sims, Martin De Jesus Tovar Hernandez, Andres Alejandro Vega, and Lindey Gail West.
An alternative academic high school that is part of GISD, STARS provides an optional setting with flexibility and personalized self-paced courses for high school students whose needs are not met in the traditional school. The acronym stands for Self-Motivated Teens Achieving Responsibility and Success. Over one thousand students have graduated from STARS since its founding in 1994.
