JROTC EXCELS AT MARINE CORPS INSPECTION
December 15, 2014

The Marine Corps JROTC unit of Granbury High School
and Crossland Ninth Grade Center received an excellent rating during an
inspection on December 11, 2014.
The review was led by Lt. Col. Mark Stroman,
regional director of the Marine Corps JROTC program. He was assisted by Marines from the 8th
Marine Corps District.
The
inspection, covering dozens of cadets participating in the program, included
the cadet companies, battalion staff, color guard, and rifle units.
Inspectors
conducted a personnel and administrative inspection consisting of uniform
appearance and fit as well as personal grooming. Cadets were also quizzed about the chain of
command as well as general military subjects such as Marine Corps history and
uniform regulations. Each cadet spent several
minutes answering oral questions and being scrutinized by a Marine
non-commissioned officer.
The
review also included an administrative and logistical portion covering key
billets such as administration, supply, and the armory.
JROTC
instructors are Lt. Col. Scott Casey and First
Seargeant Johnny Rositas.
