MARINE CORPS JROTC CADETS RECEIVE AWARDS

Marine Corps
JROTC cadets from Granbury High School and Crossland Ninth Grade Center
attended an awards ceremony on April 23, 2015, in the James Wann Sports Center.
Local military organizations presented
scholarships and cash awards to top cadets:
- American Legion Post 278: Hayle Carlile for military excellence and Jacob Fleshman for scholastic excellence
- American Legion Post 491: senior Hunter Dowell and underclassman Jerimiah Patterson for military excellence; senior Kiran Lachman and underclassman Emma Retana for scholastic excellence (Dowell and Lachman both received $500 scholarships)
- Daughters of the American Revolution/Elizabeth Crockett Chapter Bronze Medal: Shayla Satterfield (includes a $100 scholarship)
- Marine Corps League/Comanche Peak Detachment Eagle Award: Hayle Carlile
- Military Officers Association of America JROTC Scholarships: Hayle Carlile, Hunter Dowell, Jacob Fleshman, Kiran Lachman (Carlile and Dowell both received $1,500 scholarships, while Fleshman and Lachman received $1,000 scholarships)
- Sons of the American Revolution/Brazos Valley Chapter JROTC Bronze Medal: Tyler Morrissette (includes a $300 scholarship)

- Commander Burns Academic Excellence Award: Hunter Dowell
- Daedalian Achievement Award: Aimee Selman
- Dan Daly Award (most motivated male cadet): Jerimiah Patterson
- Fort Worth Scottish Rite Award: Hunter Dowell
- Military Officers Association of America Medal: Morgan Arnold
- Military Order of the Purple Heart: Robbie Chancellor
- Military Order of the World Wars Bronze Medal: Tamara Peters
- Molly Marine Award (most motivated female cadet): Halye Carlile
- National Sojourners Award: Chase Baker
- Navy League Theodore Roosevelt Medal: Hunter Dowell
- Reserve Officer Association Medal: Carter Cross
- United States Army Certificate of Achievement Award: Richard Pavlik and Aimee Selman
- United States Army Certificate of Marksmanship Achievement Award: Cody Bogle
- United States Coast Guard Award: Daired Knul and Shayla Satterfield
- Women Marines Association Award for Outstanding Cadet: Destiny Dean
The JROTC instructors are Lt. Col.
Scott Casey and First Sergeant Johnny Rositas.
