JROTC UNIT TAKES SECOND PLACE AT FITNESS MEET

The Granbury Marine Corps JROTC participated in the inaugural McKinney High School Lion’s Challenge MCJROTC Field Meet held on May 9, 2015.
 
The event was developed in the spirit of competition and sportsmanship with the intent and purpose of building unit cohesion and teamwork.
 
Out of a field of more than 125 cadets, Granbury MCJROTC placed second overall.  In the individual events, cadets earned the following recognition:
 
  • First place in Pushups - Trinity Hathaway, Michael Does, Lee Lopez, and Ceigan Jones
  • Second place in Situps - Lee Lopez, Michael Waltz, Michael Does and Hayle Carlile
  • Second place in the 1600m Relay with ammunition can carry, fireman's carry, and litter carry - Eduardo Ruiz, Jordan Wilkerson, Bryce Zavala, Tyler Morrissette, and Shayla Satterfield
  • Second place in the Combat Fitness Test - Isaiah Snodgrass, Morgan Arnold, Justin Folsom, and Tamara Peters
  • Second place in the Pullups/Flexed Arm Hang - Brandon Marriott, Ceigan Jones, Alejandro Cortes, and Aimee Selman
  • Second place in the Tire Flip - Ceigan Jones, Jason Lambert, Hunter Clowers, and Trinity Hathaway
  • Second place in the Tug of War - Will Caudle, Luiz Tovar, Jason Lambert, Lee Lopez, and Shayla Satterfield
“This was a great event and our cadets held their own. I’m very proud of them and their accomplishments” said First Sergeant Johnny Rositas, one of the JROTC instructors at Granbury High School and Crossland Ninth Grade Center. “I’m looking forward to our next event. I’m confident our Cadets will rise to the challenge as they did this weekend.”
 
The GHS unit will host a Physical Fitness Challenge on May 23.
