GISD “BACKS THE BLUE” TO SUPPORT LAW ENFORCEMENT

September 4, 2015

Granbury ISD students and staff were “backing the blue” to honor Texas and Hood County law enforcement on September 4, 2015.

Campuses throughout the school district featured students, teachers, and other staff wearing blue recognizing the efforts of the Granbury Police Department, Hood County Sheriff’s Office, and other local, state, and national law enforcement agencies.

Texas flags were ordered to be flown at half-staff by Governor Greg Abbott in honor of Darren Goforth, a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy who was shot and killed while pumping gas in Cypress.

Roberson

At Emma Roberson Elementary School, students sported blue shirts along with kindergarten teacher Sara Galvan (wife of Granbury police chief Mitch Galvan), principal Kellie Lambert, and therapy dog Bentley.
