Belle Elkins, a Granbury High
School senior, was recently honored by the Granbury Marine Corps JROTC for her
graphic design work on behalf of the rifle team.
Elkins is a four-year student
in the Arts and Audio/Visual Technology Communications program, which is part
of the school district’s career and technical education coursework.
Advanced Graphic Design and Illustration classes learn advanced skills in
Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator while demonstrating an understanding of the
graphic design standards that are used in the industry. Student focus on advanced
elements and principles of visual art and design while using their own digital
photography to create numerous graphics projects.
In addition, the advanced students create a digital portfolio that can be
used for opportunities in employment or post-secondary education. Some also participate
in various community projects designing professional publications and graphics.
The course allows some students to obtain professional certification.
