CITY COUNCIL HONORS NATIONAL CHAMPION RIFLE TEAM AND STOWAWAYS

Mayor Nin Hulett and members of the Granbury City Council honored national champions from Granbury High School during its meeting on April 3, 2018. Recognized were students in the Granbury Marine Corps JROTC rifle team and the Stowaways dance and drill team.
The mayor presented proclamations to both groups along with their sponsors during the city council meeting at Granbury City Hall.
JROTC members took top honors at the JROTC Air Rifle Championships on March 22-24 in Port Clinton, Ohio.
Cadets competing at the national contest were Trinity Hathaway, Allison Henry, M’Leah Lambdin, Clarissa Layland, Kelcy McGrath, Brittney Pinckard, Elizabeth Plecity, and Makenize Sheffield. The GHS top squad of McGrath, Hathaway, Sheffield, and Henry claimed first place and the national title. The rifle team is coached by Lt. Col. Scott Casey and 1st Sgt. Johnny Rositas.
The Stowaways came home National Champions from the American Dance/Drill Team’s National/International Competition on March 23-24 at the University of North Texas in Denton.
Stowaway captain Zara Griffin and officer Cheyenne Terry led the dance team including Lexi Cavallero, Aubree Durrett, Catherine Evans, Haley Frazier, Tiffany Hadaway, Kelly Hernandez, Cassidy Jensen, Tereza Mikeskova, Miranda Mixon, Alyssa Nichols, Kylee Patino, Bailey Schwarck, Vanshika Vaghashia, Madi Weaver, and Madi Wright. They are led by director Diane Craig.
